Duane Serritslev is a third generation native of Solvang, California. He and Susie live in Ballard, California across the street from the Ballard School, a historical landmark, which has been in continuous operation since 1883. Duane and Susie have three children who all live in Solvang along with their spouses and children.
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1971, Duane worked for a small CPA firm in Santa Maria. He then joined a local CPA firm with offices in Solvang and Santa Barbara where he became a partner. In 1977, Duane founded his own firm in Solvang and in 2006 sold a majority interest in the firm to Mike Norwine and Bill Serritslev and the firm of Serritslev Norwine & Co, CPA?s LLP was born.
Duane's philosophy about service to clients and the community are that honesty, integrity, and ethics are of utmost importance. As a person and CPA, the trust afforded to you by your clients and friends means more than any other facet of a professional business or personal relationship.
Duane enjoys playing golf (well, about 14 holes of an 18 hole round anyway), motor home camping with family and friends, fishing (hoping for more time for that), and family activities involving Susie, their three children and spouses, and eight adorable grandchildren.
Duane has served on several non-profit boards of directors, including The SG Foundation (where he currently serves), The Santa Ynez Valley Foundation, The Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation, The Session of the Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church, Jonata School Board, and Santa Ynez Valley Pony League Baseball (where he was a founding board member in 1975 and coached for many years).
Duane's professional interests lie in all areas of taxation and accounting for individuals, trusts, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and non-profit organizations. He also has a significant amount of experience in estate planning; trust administration, QuickBooks accounting, and general business consulting.
